All incursions include all materials required, are designed for 25 students per incursion, and have two facilitators present. Exploring Sustainable Food Systems

Our Future Food Ambassador Program is a comprehensive, term-long educational experience that brings concepts of sustainable food & fibre systems, and environmental stewardship to life in the classroom. Designed to deepen students’ understanding of how food is grown, how it impacts our planetary health, and how sustainable practices can support the environment, this program combines hands-on learning with insightful discussions, interactive projects, and real-world applications.

Comprehesive Ecosystem Support

Teachers gain access to our online learning platform, Ecosystem by Farmwall, where they can explore easy-to-implement lesson plans and connect with a community of educators participating in the program to exchange resources and ideas. The program includes 27 comprehensive lesson plans, three hands-on incursions led by Farmwall experts, and all necessary materials. Each school also receives a Farmwall Pocket for the duration of the program—a compact aquaponic and hydroponic system—bringing the experience of sustainable growing directly to the classroom. Farmwall facilitators support teachers throughout the term, providing guidance, answering questions, and offering assistance with system management whenever needed.

This project brought the real world to the classroom and it was so exciting to see how engaged the students were in running their projects using both systems. As an educator, I also learned about both systems and how they work. The resources and lessons were accessible and easy to use and married perfectly to the interactive parts of the project work. The Farmwall team were great with the students and it was lovely to develop a professional relationship with them throughout the term.

Living & Edible Sustainability Displays

Farmwall educational displays in schools offer an innovative way to blend sustainability, education, and wellbeing. By creating wellbeing spaces with indoor plants, students are surrounded by greenery that promotes calm and focus, contributing to a healthier learning environment. Integrating Farmwalls into school canteens provides students with hands-on STEM experiences, where they learn to cultivate microgreens and mushrooms in a sustainable, no-waste system. These displays engage students in food technology, biology, and eco-friendly practices, nurturing their curiosity and resilience.

A Farmwall in the Canteen to Support Heathy Lunch Habits 

Bringing a Farmwall into your school's canteen immerses students in STEM learning by cultivating microgreens and mushrooms in a hands-on, sustainable way. This indoor, waste-free farm stimulates interest in food technology, biology, and eco-friendly practices, nurturing both knowledge and wellbeing. Students gain practical skills that connect them to the food they eat, understand the science behind sustainable growth, and learn to appreciate how these systems can contribute to a healthier planet.

Collaborating with Farmwall has been a fantastic experience. They have been exceptionally helpful and supportive in setting up our systems and working with the Tech School to provide challenges that engage our students with real-world problems. Having the hydroponic and aquaponics systems has sparked genuine interest and curiosity, and has provided an opportunity for our students to hone their enterprise skills, preparing them for new workplace opportunities.
